The JMF partnered to re-open a closed Elverta Middle School and, as a result, brought education back to life in that community. In the Sacramento heat, Jerry, Anthony and a few dedicated volunteers spent hours in clearing the neglected school yard, prepared the ground for a baseball field. Thanks to the generosity of donors, the JMF was able to take steps in building the start of its first ever Baseball Complex and Classroom.
The elements of the Complex that still need to be built include diamonds, turf, irrigation, half fields, backstops, dugouts, bullpens, and a portable seating area. We are still in need of staffing the complex and classrooms.
